"Romp 'n Roll" Cancer Research Center fundraiser
On October 3, 2010, (standing-left to right) Barbara Conaway, GFWC/IFC Presidential Advisor; Lucy Devine, GFWC/IFC President elect and NW District President; Tanya Bland, GFWC/IFC Vice President, joined (sitting-left to right) Mary Tinney, GFWC/IFC ESO Regional Readers, Joyce Wargo and Cheryl Oestreich, GFWC ESO Tri County Woman's Reading Club, in support of the Cancer Resource Center's Annual Romp and Roll. Other clubs in the IFC North West District participating were GFWC Highland Woman's Club, GFWC Munster Women's Club and Munster Junior Woman's Club.
Participants did their part by walking as survivors, walking for survivors or working the food tents, which fed the walkers and runners afterwards. The windy and cold conditions did not keep these GFWC clubwomen from completing their tasks. We are proud to report that The Cancer Resource Center was able to raise approximately $145,000.00 because of the support given by Team GFWC and other teams.
GFWC/IFC North West District has made the Center it's "Special Project" for the past two years and has voted again to make it the "Special Project" for the next two years.

Junior Clubs were busy in 2011
On November 17th, a group of MJWC participated in a Holiday event for Fair Haven Center for Women, Inc., Highland, IN. this is the 3rd year for this event. This event was the 3rd Hope for the Holidays (vendor fair), 18 MJWC members participated in this event in some way. The MJWC also had a table and sold water, pop and hot chocolate. We raised $116.00 at our table and will donate ½ to Fair Haven. We also donated all the remainder of pop, water and hot chocolate to Fair Haven Center for Women. Fair Haven is a service for women of sexual, mental and physical abuse. Fair Haven made over $5,000.00 at this event. We had a praise band, two high school choirs, a soloist guitar singer and a dance group all perform at this event.
The Jrs had a lot of fun and now we would like to have our own vendor fair!
This year the MJWC collected toys to send to Haiti with Mike Fedele (Life for the World). Pictured with the toys are Theresa Weakland, Michelle Tovo, Mike Fedele, Dianne Kowalski, Sara Puplava and Shawn Mickow.
